प्रश्न

I remember when I was around 8 or back in 2011 or 2012 I was at a friends house and he was playing a zombie game on his computer and I haven’t been able to find it since. I’ve been wired to the internet since 2010 and I still have yet to ever see it or hear of it ever again.

The game had you playing as punk rock girls fighting zombies. You had a set number of these girls which you could switch amongst freely, and when a zombie got to close to them they would become zombies and start fighting against you.

It had simpler game to Plants vs Zombies, but you viewed the game from the corner of a 2D room, similar to the original Sims, or a isometric perspective if you will. It had on screen icons with the girls faces so you knew which character you were currently looking at.

The room had a checkered floor and I think had blue on pink walls, and there were amps you could hide behind for protection.

The graphics I think was 16-bit but idk.

So, I think it might’ve been some old flash game the got lost back in the early 2010s. I have no idea what website she was using but I really want to know what this game is because I like the premise of punk rock girls fighting zombies and it scared the shit out as a kid for some reason lol.

Dead Block 是一种基于回合制战术的游戏,以 1950 年代的摇滚乐为背景,玩家需要守护家园免受僵尸的侵袭。

उत्तर

Based on your detailed description, the game you're referring to is likely "Dead Block", released in 2011 by Candygun Games. Here are the key points that match your memory:

  • Punk Rock Theme: The game is set in the 1950s during the rise of rock 'n' roll, which in the game's story causes a zombie outbreak.
  • Playable Characters: You can switch between different characters, including a female character named Foxy Jones, who fits the "punk rock girl" description.
  • Gameplay Mechanics: It's a mix of action and tower defense, similar to Plants vs. Zombies. You set up traps and defenses to fend off zombies.
  • Perspective: The game features an isometric view, much like the original Sims, matching your memory of viewing the game from the corner of a 2D room.
  • Visual Elements: The environments often include checkered floors and colorful walls. There are objects like amps and jukeboxes that fit the rock 'n' roll theme and can be used for protection.
  • Character Icons: The HUD displays icons of the characters' faces, so you know which one you're controlling.
  • Art Style: The graphics are stylized and could be perceived as 16-bit, especially to someone recalling from childhood memories.

Why You Might Have Missed It:

  • Obscurity: Dead Block wasn't a mainstream hit, so it didn't receive as much attention and could be easily overlooked when searching.
  • Release Platform: It was available on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC, which might limit its visibility if you're searching for flash games.

Alternative Possibility: Rock Zombie

If Dead Block doesn't seem to fit perfectly, another game to consider is "Rock Zombie", released in 2014 by Quaternion Studio:

  • Playable Characters: You control female rock musicians fighting zombies.
  • Gameplay and Visuals: It has a third-person perspective with isometric elements and includes rock-themed environments.
  • Art Style: The graphics are reminiscent of older games, aligning with your memory of 16-bit visuals.

However, the release date is a bit later than your timeframe, so Dead Block is more likely the game you're recalling.

Additional Notes:

  • Flash Games: If you're certain it was a flash game, you might have played a browser-based game that's no longer available due to the discontinuation of Adobe Flash. In that case, searching through archives like the Internet Archive's Flash library might help.
  • Obsolete Platforms: Some games from that era are hard to find because they were hosted on now-defunct websites or platforms.

I hope this helps you rediscover the game that left such an impression on you!
